In June 2022, Poland sent 20 Goździk artillery systems to Ukraine. Now the Armed Forces have shown the Polish SAU in operation for the first time.

What we know

Goździk is a Polish self-propelled artillery unit with 122 mm caliber. It is an analogue of the Soviet howitzer "Gvozdika", which is used by the armies of Ukraine and Russia. The video shows the Polish version of the Goździk, as indicated by the characteristic camouflage of the artillery unit.

The self-propelled howitzer is based on the tracked chassis. Weight of the howitzer is about 16 tons. The crew consists of 4-5 servicemen. The artillery unit has a 122-mm 2A31 gun and steel rolled armor.

Goździk is equipped with 300 hp engine. Maximum speed is 60 km/h on a highway and 4.5 km/h afloat. By the way, the Soviet "Gvozdika" was the first floating artillery unit on caterpillar chassis in the world.
