The AFU destroyed the TOS-1 "Buratino" - it is called the most powerful non-nuclear weapon of Russia

A video of the destruction of a convoy of Russian military equipment, where several tanks were carrying the Buratino heavy flamethrower system, has appeared online.

What we know

The TOS-1 Buratino is called the most powerful non-nuclear weapon of the Russian Federation. The system uses thermobaric charges, in which both temperature and pressure act as lethal elements simultaneously.

The flamethrower system consists of a fighting vehicle with guided vehicles and a couple of transport-loading vehicles. All of them are based on the T-72 tank. The transport and loading vehicles are equipped with a special crane for charging and discharging the combat vehicle.

TOS-1 "Buratino" was introduced in 1999. Two years later, a modification of the TOS-1A "Solntspek" with 24 rails instead of 30 appeared. The most modern representative of the family of heavy flamethrower systems is the TOS-2 "Tosochka".
