Both parties of the U.S. Congress support the transfer of long-range ATACMS ballistic missiles to Ukraine for HIMARS and M270 MLRS
Democrats and Republicans support the transfer of long-range ATACMS missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
What we know
This was stated by Elissa Slotkin, a member of the House of Representatives from the Democratic Party. She spoke at a briefing in Michigan after lawmakers met with White House officials.
According to Slotkin, the U.S. government considers it necessary to urgently transfer the long-range missiles to Ukraine. By "urgently" the deputy means three to six weeks. The ATACMS missiles with a range of "over 280 km" will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a counterattack in the south of the country.
Recall that earlier White House representatives excluded the transfer of the ATACMS operational-tactical missile complex to Ukraine due to security concerns, believing that it could lead to the outbreak of World War III. The announcement came a day after Joy Biden approved the transfer of additional HIMARS systems to Ukraine and 580 Phoenix Ghost drones.
