The Russians began to use new homemade Snezhinka multiple rocket launcher systems in the war against Ukraine.
What we know
The Snowflake is a relatively new multiple-launch rocket system. It, along with the Cheburashka MLRS, was presented by the occupation government in Donbass on May 9, 2018. The MLRS is mounted on a KrAZ-260 chassis with a 6x6 wheel arrangement. The launcher has a pair of rails and uses 324-mm rockets with a launch range of 1.5-9.6 km.
In 2018, talks of a multiple rocket launcher ceased after the head of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic, Zakharchenko, was eliminated. Local media reported that work on the MLRS had ceased.
