The U.S. Department of Defense, following Operational Command South, also denied Russia's statement about the destruction of six HIMARS in Ukraine.
What we know
On August 2, the Russian defense minister stated that their army was able to destroy half a dozen HIMARS multiple rocket launchers. Operational Command South reported that the information was not true.
The Pentagon also commented on Russia's statement. U.S. Defense Department spokesman Todd Breasseale said that the words of the head of the Russian agency "are obviously false again." The Pentagon spokesman also stressed that Ukrainians use HIMARS missile systems with remarkable accuracy and effectiveness.
