What we know
This was announced by Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov. The minister emphasized that self-propelled artillery units have not just arrived in Ukraine, but are already fully helping the Armed Forces at the battlefront.
We remind you that the last time we mentioned M109 in Ukraine was almost a month ago. At that time it became known, that our military use 155mm high-explosive shells M549 with a range of 30 km.
M109 is an American self-propelled howitzer that is built on a tracked chassis and equipped with a Detroit Diesel 8V1T engine. It has a top speed of approximately 56 km/h. In addition to the 155 mm M126 gun, the artillery unit is equipped with a 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun.
