Ukrainian Air Force integrates NASAMS and IRIS-T surface-to-air missile systems into a unified air defense system

Ukraine plans to create a unified information field of air defense using Western anti-aircraft missile systems.

Here's What We Know

This was announced by the speaker of the Air Force of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat. According to him, Western air defense systems can function in conjunction with Soviet anti-aircraft missile systems. Otherwise, the partners would simply not transfer modern systems to Ukraine.

Ignat mentioned that German IRIS-T and American-Norwegian NASAMS systems have already arrived in Ukraine and are successfully used by the Air Force, being integrated into the united system of anti-aircraft defense of the country.

Flashback

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov confirmed the receipt of the Aspide and NASAMS air defense systems from Spain and the United States respectively. A total of eight NASAMS batteries will be handed over by the United States, six of which will be delivered next year.
