Poland plans to transfer 14 Leopard 2 tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Poland is preparing to send 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. This was announced by Andrzej Duda, speaking to journalists at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Here's What We Know
Duda said Poland is counting on the help of other European nations that have German-made tanks in their armaments. The goal is to help the Armed Forces create at least one tank brigade.
It should be noted that only Great Britain officially announced about sending Western tanks to Ukraine so far. The United Kingdom will hand over one squadron of Challenger 2 combat vehicles (14 units).
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba said that five countries were ready to share Leopard 2 tanks, including Poland and Finland. To do so, they must obtain permission from Germany, which reportedly will be accepted by 20 January.
