Canada can send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, but under one condition
Canada can join the international coalition and send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. But there is one condition.
Here's What We Know
Canada has already sent weapons and armored vehicles to Ukraine. It is possible that soon the Ukrainian army will be equipped with "Canadian" tanks. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.
According to Trudeau, Canada will consider transferring Leopard 2 tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces if Germany allows the re-export of combat vehicles. This decision is awaited by Poland, Finland and several other states that have Leopards 2.
The Canadian Army has three modifications of German tanks in service: the 2A4, 2A4M and 2A6M. The last variant is equipped with a 55 caliber cannon instead of 44 caliber. Canada has a total of about 90 Leopard 2 tanks.
