The U.S. will give Ukraine AGM-88 HARM high-speed anti-ballistic missiles to suppress the Russian air defense system
Along with the ScanEagle drones, the United States will send to Ukraine a batch of AGM-88 HARM high-speed antiradar missiles.
What we know
The missiles can hit targets at ranges from 100 to 300 kilometers, depending on the conditions of use and configuration. The AGM-88 HARMs are designed to destroy enemy radar stations and are relatively resistant to modern types of obstacles. The American missile is capable of detecting the location of the enemy object. This allows it to destroy a radar station even if it is disabled.
The AGM-88 HARM missiles are equipped with A-6 Intruder, F-4 Phantom II, F-16 Fighting Falcon and F/A-18 Hornet. However, Ukraine does not have any such aircraft. In spite of this, the Ukrainian aviation already used AGM-88 HARMs. It was possible to integrate them into MiG fighters from the Ukrainian Air Force fleet.
