Russia announced the start of serial production of hypersonic Zirkon missiles
The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced the start of serial production of the hypersonic Zirkon missile.

This was announced by the head of the Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu. According to him, the new missile "has actually been put into service." The defense minister also stressed that it will be documented in 2022. True, originally the launch of serial production was planned for 2017, and the acceptance into service - in 2020.
"Zirkon" flies at an altitude of 30-40 km most of its way. When approaching the target, the missile descends and can perform maneuvers at an altitude of up to 10 m. The speed of the missile is almost an order of magnitude faster than the speed of sound (1235 km/h) and is about 11,000 km/h. The first test of the Zircon was held in 2020. Then the missile was launched from the frigate Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov.
