Turkish MILDEN submarine with advanced AKYA torpedoes, Atmaca anti-ship missiles and Gezgin strategic missiles unveiled
Turkey has unveiled a new submarine. It is called the MILDEN and is supposed to surpass the German submarines.

Turkish shipyards are already preparing for submarine production. The first submarine is expected to appear in 2025. Turkey plans to produce six submarines annually.
The MILDEN will be 80 m long and have a displacement of 2,700 tons. For comparison, the submarine Type-214 has these indicators 80 m and 1,860 tons respectively. The main peculiarity of the new submarine will be its increased number of arms. The submarine will be capable of carrying Gezgin strategic missiles, which are the Turkish equivalent of the US Tomahawk missiles.
MILDEN will be able to use Atmaca anti-ship cruise missiles which came to replace the American Harpoon. In addition, the arsenal of the submarine may include a promising torpedo AKYA, which is under development.
