Latvia wants to buy Norwegian NSM anti-ship missiles with a launch range of 185 km
The Latvian Navy plans to receive Norwegian Naval Strike Missile (NSM) from the Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace.

Last week, the Latvian Defense Ministry decided to hold talks with a Norwegian arms manufacturer. The defense ministry decided on the Naval Strike Missile after analyzing the alternatives. However, there is no information on what options the ministry had.
The NSM can be mounted ashore, on a vehicle chassis and on a ship. The missile weighs more than 400 kg including the solid propellant booster and can reach speeds up to Mach 0.95 (1,175 km/h). The launch range is from 3 to 185 km.
In addition to Norway itself, the list of operators of Naval Strike Missile includes several other states. Among them are the United States, Australia, Canada, Romania, Poland, Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom.
