In addition, according to a German source, the United States is trying to put pressure on European countries to increase military aid to Ukraine. In addition to tanks the issue of transferring infantry fighting vehicles not only of Soviet, but also of Western production is being discussed.

After the meeting of defense ministers at the Ramstein airbase in Germany, the Pentagon chief noted that military aid to Ukraine must keep up with the times. At the meeting itself, Lloyd Austin did not talk about tanks, but recalled that Western countries had sent MRAP armored vehicles, Gepard anti-aircraft guns and other armored vehicles to Ukraine.

Germany also supports the initiative to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities at the expense of heavy weapons. At the same time, Berlin itself does not intend to share the Leopard tanks. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said this over the weekend.
