Baltic Motorsport Promotion and Vāģi last week presented the VR-1 FOX military vehicle prototype.

Here's What We Know

The all-wheel drive vehicle is designed for the Latvian National Armed Forces. Prototype of the vehicle was shown at the Adazi firing range with the participation of the Latvian Ministry of Defense head Artis Abriks.

According to the manufacturer, VR-1 FOX has the maneuverability of a buggy and the strength of an off-road vehicle. The main criteria for the creation of a military vehicle were ease of use and maintenance, suitability to Latvian climatic and geographic conditions, as well as the ability to withstand heavy loads. National Armed Forces of Latvia put forward almost 200 requirements to VR-1 FOX.

The vehicle is designed for transportation of soldiers and representatives of the National Guard. If necessary, the vehicle can be equipped with weapon systems. Under the contract with the armed forces, Baltic Motorsport Promotion and Vāģi will present two VR-1 FOX prototypes, after which production will begin.
