It's official: MARS II rocket systems have already arrived in Ukraine and are ready to destroy Russian ammunition depots
MARS II multiple rocket launchers have arrived in Ukraine from Germany.
What is known
Last week, German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht announced the transfer of MARS II multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine. on August 1, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov wrote that the MLRS had arrived in Ukraine.
MARS II is a European analogue of the US M270 MLRS, which is also already deployed by Ukrainian Defense Forces. The launcher is equipped with the Airbus fire control system, which enables firing of M31, M31A1, M32 and AT2 missiles.
MARS II has a 12-track launcher (two blocks of six missiles) and can hit targets at a distance of up to 70 km. Germany transferred three multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine. Thus, together with the M270 MLRS and M142 HIMARS the number of foreign MLRSs has already exceeded 20 units.
