The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed an extremely rare BMO-T heavy flamethrower fighting vehicle
Ukrainian servicemen managed to destroy a very rare Russian heavy combat vehicle BMO-T flamethrower.
What is known
The fighting vehicle was developed in 2001 to transport weapons and personnel of the flamethrower squad. The vehicle was adopted for service in the same year.
BMO-T is based on T-72 tank. The heavy flamethrower fighting vehicle is a very rare piece of equipment in the Russian army - about two dozen units have been produced in total. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed at least two BMO-Ts.
The combat vehicle is equipped with 840 horsepower engine and can reach speeds of up to 60 km/h. It has a cruising range of more than 700 km. The armament of the BMO-T includes a 12.7 mm machine gun and rocket launcher RPO-A "Shmel".
