The flagship Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 + will go on sale in early March
According to Korean publications, Samsung is preparing to launch mass production of new generation flagships. The company has already placed orders for the key components for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 +, and the first smartphones will come off the assembly line in January 2018.
Changes inside
It is expected that the introduction of SLP technology (Substrate Like PCB), which allows more dense placement of elements, will begin with the novelties. The share of such cards will be about 60% (previously it was reported that they will be used in models based on the Exynos chipset), and besides the subsidiary Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the Korean giant connected several more suppliers.
We already know that only the older Samsung Galaxy S9 + will get the dual main camera, but also the front smartphone modules will be different. So, Galaxy S9 will get a camera, combined with an iris scanner (similar development is in LG). Partron will manufacture it, and Power Logics have commissioned the release of separate self-camera modules and a biometric sensor for the Galaxy S9 +.
When to expect?
Production of the Galaxy S9 and S9 + will begin in January, and by the time the flagships are presented at the MWC 2018 at the end of February, Samsung will already have a large start-up lot of smartphones. Not surprisingly, the rumors indicate the start of sales of new products in early March next year. Current models Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 + came out only in late April.
