20 FlyEye, 78 DJI Matrice 300 RTK, 80 SKIF and 254 DJI Mavic 3 - the "Drone Army" project bought 472 drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces
In a month and a half the "Drone Army" project has purchased almost 500 drones using money donated by businesses and ordinary Ukrainians.
What we know
On July 1 the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the platform UNITED24 announced the launch of the project "Drone Army". Everyone who wished had the opportunity to transfer money for the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Within several days they managed to collect ₴400 million ($1.08 million at the current exchange rate).
On August 22, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that the "Army of Drones" project was able to purchase 472 UAVs thanks to the help of people and businesses who cared. The drones come in batches, and some of them are already helping the Armed Forces at the battlefield.
The project ordered 20 NATO-compliant FlyEye drones, 78 DJI Matrice 300 RTKs and 254 DJI Mavic 3s. In addition, the fleet was replenished with 80 drones SKIF of Ukrainian production. By the way, the Army of Drones is considering buying several more Ukrainian UAVs: UJ-22 Airborne and ACS-3.
