Soldiers of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured an unusual Russian BMP-2.
What is known
The fact is that the car was equipped with a new set of additional protection 675-sb3KDZ. According to Defense Express, in 2021 Russia had about 100 such kits. And they began to install them on cars only this year. Already after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
Set 675-sb3KDZ consists of anti-cumulative grids and polymer panels. They must protect the vehicle from heavy machine gun fire. It is noted that polymer panels have "positive buoyancy". That is, after their installation, the amphibious capabilities of the machine remain at the same level.
