A video with a very rare Ukrainian Air Force fighter, which is designed to destroy enemy aircraft and cruise missiles, was published online.
What we know
We are talking about a version of the MiG-29MU1. Modernization of the aircraft began in 2009 at the Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant.
The fighter can reach speeds of 1500 km/h on the ground and 2450 km/h at altitude. Cruising speed is 850 km/h. The Ukrainian MiG-29 with additional tanks can fly more than 2000 km. Practical ceiling is 18 km.
The MiG-29 armament includes a 30 mm air cannon and several guided missiles. The video shows the fighter with two medium-range air-to-air missiles R-27 (version 27P or 27ER) and four air-to-air short-range infrared guided missiles R73.
