Sony PS VR2 headset is ready, but Sony may delay its launch until next year
Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made an interesting statement about the Sony PS VR2 virtual reality headset. He believes that Sony has already completed the development of hardware for PS VR2. He added that the supply chain of components will start working this year. Mass production will begin in the third quarter of this year. But Sony may delay the launch of PS VR2 until next year.

This is a dilemma. Sony may miss peak season if insisting on having enough games for PS VR2 launch. But if Sony wants to sell PS VR2 in 2H22, the game lineup may not be compelling enough, leading to lower-than-expected shipments.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo's analysis, if Sony's management insists on releasing a PS VR2 with a strong lineup of at least 20 games, then the company may skip the peak Christmas season of 2022. If the bet is not made on a large line of games, then the headset will definitely come out in 2022, but this may lead to lower than expected shipments because of the lack of games.
