“As of today, on the 105th day of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, not a single, I repeat, not a single piece of heavy equipment — at least artillery, howitzers, infantry fighting vehicles, tanks — not a single one has been delivered to Ukraine,” the ambassador stressed.

However, things seem to have moved on. Andriy Melnyk said that Germany is going to deliver to Ukraine and when exactly.

So, on June 22, deliveries of 7 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers are expected, and in July and August - Gepard self-propelled guns. “This is also an old weapon - 30 units: 15 Gepard - until the end of July, another 15 - until the end of August. That is, only 2 decisions out of all announced by the German government until today, which are under implementation,” the ambassador said.

In addition, Germany is preparing a modern IRIS-T air defense system for Ukraine. Now its production continues, in the fall this air defense will help cover Kyiv, and in 3-4 years - other cities and important objects of Ukraine. Production will end at the end of the summer, followed by training and IRIS-T deliveries in October. In this case, such a long time is justified, since the production has not yet been completed.

“The IRIS-T system is the only thing I thanked both the chancellor and the government for in recent months. This system is the coolest in the world. It can be compared with the American Patriot. This is a German product. The breakthrough is that this is the first weapon not of the old model, but of the newest one, ”Andrey Melnik emphasized.
