The remaster of the cult quest Blade Runner will be released on June 23
Nightdive announced a reprint Blade Runner back in 2020. But the inside of the game turned out to be very tricky, so at some point the release had to be delayed. Now all the difficulties are overcome, and Blade Runner: Encanced Edition ready to go.
As the authors write, Enchanced Edition is a version restored with love for the original source Among the key improvements:
- Reconstruction and increase the resolution of original VQA videos
- Cinematic excerpts are updated from 15 to 60 fps
- Modern display in HD
- Improved interface of tips and game tool-assistant
- Improved subtitle support
- Support for modern gamepads
- SMAA smoothing
- Anisotropic texture filtering
The plot of the game develops in parallel with the film Ridley Scott. The main character is Detective Ray McCoy. He is investigating replicants suspected of killing animals. He has an ESPER photo analysis machine, a Voit-Kampf test, a flying police machine, and a KIA evidence study tool. On the way to the truth, Makoi will meet the characters from the film, whose roles are played by the same actors.
Original Blade Runner - creation Westwood Studios, which is best known for the first Command & Conquer. The game once stood out with an innovative approach to the genre of quests: the story develops in the real part, the 3D engine is based on voxels, the production was cinematic, and the lighting for its time was considered breakthrough.
Blade Runner: Enchanced Edition comes out tomorrow, June 23, at PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
