The U.S. told how many more HIMARS may be transferred to Ukraine
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov recently stated that the country needed 50 HIMARS and M270 missile systems for defense and 100 for offensive purposes. Radio Liberty journalists asked Adam Smith, head of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, how many more HIMARS America was ready to provide to Ukraine.
How much?
According to him, the U.S. is willing to provide Ukraine "as many HIMARS installations as they can."
"It's not a fact that we have exactly 50 of these rigs in our arsenal. I think the goal now is to reach the number of 25-30 multiple rocket launchers. And that will be a combination of HIMARS and several MLRS systems from the United Kingdom and other countries. We will try to provide as many as we can. But 50 or 60 launchers will be difficult to assemble and provide, however, we want to reach a figure of 25 or 30 and provide as much artillery and missiles for these systems as we can."
