AMD launched Noise Suppression — an answer to NVIDIA RTX Voice intelligent noise cancellation technology

In a story about what the NVIDIA RTX Voice can accomplish, we praised its noise removal skills for being "remarkably good" at removing everything but your voice. AMD has now launched a comparable tool for computers based on its processors, which may substantially boost your gaming and live streaming experience or result in cleaner recordings. Through the use of a deep learning algorithm, AMD's Noise Suppression solution may reduce background noise and noises in real time.

The noise reduction feature works with both input and output devices, which means it can not only cut out the noise picked up by your microphone, but also any sound coming from someone else's. It may help you stay concentrated while studying at a meeting or doing online courses since it can drown out the noises of a barking dog or wailing infant in the distance.

However, Noise Suppression is only available on computers with Ryzen 5000 series and later processors, as well as systems with Radeon RX 6000 series and later GPUs. If you're certain your computer has the required components, go to the Settings page before upgrading to the latest version of AMD Software.

The feature is available in the Audio & Video tab under Audio Settings. You can select to enable it for either your input or output device, or both at the same time. The Noise Suppression tool may be used the next time you fire up a game or a communication software such as Microsoft Teams or Slack, as long as you choose "AMD Streaming Device" as your input and/or output device.
