Delete messages from WhatsApp up to 2 days after sending them
With iOS 16 beta, Apple is adding the capability to "unsend" messages for the first time. WhatsApp already offers a comparable functionality, although it is now releasing an upgrade that allows users to erase messages up to two days after they're sent. The option to remove transmitted communications was announced by WhatsApp on its Twitter profile. Users will now have two days in a private or group conversation to decide whether or not to unsend a message.
Users of WhatsApp will have 2 days and 12 hours to erase a message after sending it, according to the site. Previously, this limit was only 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds - that was specific. To remove a message sent in WhatsApp, simply touch and hold on it for a few seconds before tapping the "Delete" button.
Apple, on the other hand, is going in the opposite direction by decreasing the time allowed for WhatsApp users to erase a message. With iOS 16's first betas, people had 15 minutes to delete a communication. Now with the most recent betas, this period has been cut down to only two minutes.

Due to the controversy surrounding the option, some users think that it can be abused for fraudulent purposes. Apple also added a history change option to iMessages after this, as well as a delete button. Meanwhile, Telegram, which is known for being a WhatsApp and iMessage rival, allows users to edit and remove messages with no restrictions.
WhatsApp is working on a feature that would enable group owners to remove messages from any member of the group, as reported by Mac Magazine.
