According to an insider, Sony canceled the unannounced PlayStation Showcase presentation because of the ongoing deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard
According to insider Millie A, Sony had planned to hold the PlayStation Showcase presentation on October 20. However, the company revised its plans and postponed the show indefinitely.
Millie Amand cites Sony's reluctance to draw attention to its activities amid the ongoing deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard and related litigation as the reason.

The ongoing CMA investigation for MS acquisition of AB, has indeed delayed any Showcase plans for Sony. Exclusive titles and first party I.P. were 'locked in'. Sony believe a showcase will add weight to MS arguments. Silent Hill & Kojima Who Am I reveal were part of show.
It is believed that the Japanese corporation wants to be less competitive in the video game market as it tries to bargain for the most favorable business terms, which primarily concerns the Call of Duty series.
Part of the PlayStation Showcase, according to Milly Amand, was supposed to be a high-profile announcement of something from Silent Hill and a presentation of a mystery project from Hideo Kojima.
As a matter of fact, Konami will still present a Silent Hill project, but as part of their own show which will take place on the night of October 20th.
