BMW will allocate $1.7 billion to expand production of electric cars and batteries in the United States

After the U.S. administration announced an investment of nearly $3 billion to expand production of batteries for electric cars, BMW made a similar statement.

Here's What We Know

The German car giant will commit $1.7 billion to expand production of electric cars and batteries for them. The company will invest $1 billion in production in South Carolina, where the X-Series models are produced. By the end of the decade, BMW wants to produce at least six iX cars annually.

The company will also expand production of sixth-generation batteries for electric cars at its Arkansas plant. We're talking about batteries made using Envision AESC technology. The company will invest $700,000 in the construction of the new plant.
