New details about the RPG Starfield: Todd Howard reveals details of the ambitious project from Bethesda
Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of next year. Millions of gamers are waiting for its release, and if you are one of them, you'll be very interested to know the details about the game from the head of Bethesda Todd Howard.
Here's What We Know
On the Lex Fridman podcast, Howard gave a lot of small details about both Starfield itself and its development.
Briefly on the Highlights:
- The developers are paying special attention to the space setting. The landscape and features of the planets will be close to realistic, and they move in physically correct orbits;
- The number of planets will be really big, but the developers decided to rely not on the scale of the game, but on the quality of elaboration;
- star systems are divided into levels;
- Fuel can be mined on different planets;
- Starfield is a game about humans. There are a lot of robots, but they are secondary and subordinate to humans. Robot enemies will be;
- The main character's companions react differently to the player's actions, and they react rather than pretend;
- In spaceports you can see third-party ships loading and unloading, their crews periodically contacting the player and offering various interactions.
Todd Howard has no regrets about Starfield's console exclusivity on the Xbox Series. He says it helped make the game even better, since the game designers only have to deal with two versions of the game, plus they have the best Xbox developers helping them out.
When We Can Expect It
Starfield will be released in the first half of 2023, probably right after Redfall, which, according to insiders, is scheduled for release in March.
