Canada will buy a battery of NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems for Ukraine
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive one more battery of NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems than planned. This was announced by the office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Here's What We Know
Justin Trudeau invited U.S. President Joe Biden to visit Canada after the Mexico City summit. It was also discussed at the meeting that Canada would buy the NASAMS air defense system from the U.S. and send it to Ukraine.
I spoke with Ukrainian Defence Minister @OleksiiReznikov this morning and heard it directly: air defence systems are Ukraine's top priority. That's why Canada is purchasing a National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) from the United States to donate to Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/33bdHmcldb
