Microsoft president warns: Russian security services and Wagner's terrorist group infiltrate gaming communities to gather information and recruit agents
During the Semafor World Economic Forum, Microsoft president Brad Smith said the corporation had information about the interest of Russian intelligence services and the Wagner Group, a terrorist military organisation, in the gaming community.
Here's What We Know
According to the businessman, Microsoft's analytical department has comprehensively studied the available information and warned the company's management about the danger of the infiltration of Russian intelligence services into the gaming community. The topic was raised in the context of the war in Ukraine and the recently leaked secret Pentagon documents. The crucial information is known to have been posted on closed gaming forums, including on the Minecraft Discord server.
For its part, Microsoft informed the US government about the interest of the FSB and the Russian GRU in the gaming platforms as sources of information and, possibly, agent recruitment.
