Insider: Rockstar Games will drop support for GTA Online on PS4 and Xbox One this summer
GTA Online was released ten years ago and is still one of the most popular multiplayer games.
Initially released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, GTA Online was later released for the PC and two other generations of consoles.
With the skyrocketing popularity and availability of the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles, the relevance of GTA Online on last generation platforms is dropping, to the point that Rockstar Games may drop support for the game on these devices.
Relevant information has been shared by reputable insider Tez2, who regularly reports reliable news about Rockstar games. According to his information, the developers will shut down GTA Online servers on PS4 and Xbox One as early as this summer.
Rockstar teased upcoming "service updates" for #GTAOnline two weeks ago.
