Artificial Intelligence gets full control over Tesla electric vehicles in new Full Self-Driving Beta
Tesla is preparing to release a new beta version of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) driver assistance system. After the update, artificial intelligence will be able to fully control electric cars.
Here's What We Know
Tesla is preparing two updates for the FSD Beta. Version v11.4 will offer "many important changes". According to Elon Musk, this update could have received the v12.0 number, but the company has decided to keep that index for the next build.
The FSD Beta software, which will appear as v12.0, will offer "end-to-end AI use". After the update, the artificial intelligence will be able to recognise images from on-board cameras, control the trajectory of the electric car and regulate the speed. Previously, the AI's tasks included only the first item.
Tesla is now distributing the FSD Beta 11.4 software outside the test fleet. When the FSD Beta 12.0 update will be released is currently unknown.
Elon Musk has promised that Tesla electric vehicle owners will get a chance to test FSD for free for a month. The Tesla Electric will be available to customers in North America, as well as in other regions. But this will only happen after the FSD reaches a high level of safety.
