Ukraine wants to buy 450 Guarani armoured personnel carriers from Brazil

Ukraine has submitted a request to the Brazilian government for the purchase of Guarani armoured personnel carriers.

Brazilian publication TecnoDefesa shared the information. We are talking about 450 vehicles with C2 control system for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. These vehicles will be used for evacuation of people, as well as transportation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield.

By the way, a medical version of the Guarani is currently under development, and such a large contract would have helped to get the vehicle into production sooner. Unfortunately, Brazil has not yet given its approval for the armoured vehicles to be sold.

Flashback

Guarani is a family of 20-ton armored vehicles with 6×6 wheel configuration. The vehicle was developed by Iveco Defense Vehicles in 2009 specifically for the Brazilian army. The vehicle has a modular design and different modifications, but only the combat model is available in mass production.
