Tesla Model S Plaid sets new track record at the Nürburgring, beating Porsche Taycan Turbos S by 8 seconds
The Tesla Model S Plaid managed to take the lead on the Nürburgring's North Loop from the Porsche Taycan Turbos S electric car. The record [among production cars] was set earlier this month.

The Tesla Model S Plaid took the lead for the first time in 2021, managing to cover the distance in 7 minutes 35.579 seconds. Last year, the Porsche Taycan Turbos S improved by 2 seconds, but another year later, Elon Musk's electric car regained the lead.

The Tesla Model S Plaid set a new record on June 2, 2023. The car completed the north loop in 7 minutes 25.231 seconds, improving its own result by more than 10 seconds and beating the Taycan Turbos S by 8 seconds.
The race featured an electric car with a complete Track Package. The package includes ceramic components in the brakes and special tyres which increase the top speed of the vehicle up to 322 km/h.
