The French government has requested up to 1,515 AGM-114R2 Hellfire air-to-air guided anti-tank missiles. The potential deal is worth $203m and Lockheed Martin will be the prime contractor.

The AGM-114R2 is one of the latest versions of the Hellfire aircraft missile. It has a laser guidance system and allows the destruction of enemy targets at a distance of up to 11 km.

Another feature of the AGM-114R2 Hellfire is its multi-purpose warhead. It allows the guided missile to engage different types of targets effectively.
