Patriot surface-to-air missile systems, Leopard 1 tanks, Marder combat vehicles and drones - Germany prepares €600-700m military aid for Ukraine
Updated: two Patrtiot launchers, 25 Leopard tanks and 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive a new batch of launchers for MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile systems. They will be transferred by Germany as part of a multi-million dollar new military aid package.
Here's What We Know
Germany will transfer several Patriot launchers, a batch of Marder infantry fighting vehicles, demining equipment, 20,000 artillery shells, tank ammunition for Leopard and reconnaissance drones to Ukraine. Deliveries of Leopard 1A5 tanks will also begin.
Along with launchers for the MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile system, Germany will transfer other surface-to-air weapons from the German armed forces' stockpiles. This is an important step, as the Bundeswehr does not have a surplus of such weapons.
