Vertical Aerospace's VX4 air taxi has made its first unmanned flight, reaching speeds of 70km/h
Vertical Aerospace has finally conducted the first flight test of an air taxi called the VX4. The British company sent it on a flight without a driver on board.
Here's What We Know
The VX4 is a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. As part of the test, the air taxi climbed to a low altitude, flew some distance and successfully made a soft landing.
The speed during the flight reached 70 kilometres per hour. At the same time, the company claims that the final version of the air vehicle will be able to accelerate up to 325 km/h and will have a maximum range of approximately 160 kilometres on a full battery charge.
Despite the fact that Vertical Aerospace has already collected almost 1,500 pre-orders, the development of the VX4 is not going smoothly. The British company had planned to certify the air taxi next year, but won't be able to do so until late 2026.
