OnePlus 5 received an update, which added a Face Unlock
OnePlus has released a stable version of OxygenOS 5.0.2 firmware for the OnePlus 5 smartphone.
What's added
The main innovation was the function "Face Unlock", which was presented together with OnePlus 5T. Unlocking this way works fine, but it's not as reliable as FaceID on the iPhone X. The company understands that perfectly, that's why it says that the fingerprint scanner is still the safest method.
In addition to the new unlock function, they improved electronic stabilization during video shooting, added the "Notes" application, updated the OnePlus shell version, the "Gallery" application, the "Weather" and the file manager. Naturally, we corrected minor flaws in the previous version of OxygenOS, and also added a security patch for the CPU with the number CVE-2017-13218.
When to expect
OxygenOS 5.0.2 will "arrive" regionally. But if you do not want to wait, you can turn on the VPN and select the region "Canada" or "Germany". After that, the smartphone will immediately see an OTA-update.
