The Apple Watch Series 1 smartwatch is recognised as another vintage Apple product
Earlier this month, Apple added the very first Apple Watch to its list of obsolete products. This means they are no longer repairable or serviceable at Apple Stores and Apple Authorised Service Providers. Now there's another addition to the list.
Here's What's New About It
The Apple Watch Series 1 smart watch (not to be confused with the first Apple Watch) is now classified as a vintage device. Apple gadgets become vintage 5 years after they were last on sale. The Apple Watch Series 1 was introduced in 2016 and was discontinued in September 2018 after the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 4, so the 5-year mark has already been reached.
Vintage products are no longer repairable at Apple Stores or Apple Authorised Service Centres, with service dependent on parts availability.
The Apple Watch Series 1 debuted alongside the Apple Watch Series 2 and was a more affordable model without GPS like the Series 2, a brighter display and improved water resistance.
By the way, the Apple Watch Series 2 is also on the list of vintage devices.
