Amazon has introduced AI-powered robots into warehouses that speed up order processing by 25 per cent

Amazon has unveiled a new artificial intelligence-based automated system called Sequoia to optimise its logistics centres.
Here's What We Know
The Sequoia system includes transport robots, computer vision and manipulators. It identifies goods and delivers them to warehouse workers to pick orders.
The robots feed products at human waist level, which improves ergonomics and safety. Previously, employees had to reach for the top shelves.
According to Amazon, the implementation of Sequoia has improved the speed of product retrieval and storage by 75%. Order fulfilment times have been reduced by 25%.
This isn't the first automation system from Amazon. In 2022, the company introduced Sparrow, a robot that identifies and moves items in warehouses.
For now, Sequoia only works in one warehouse in Houston. But Amazon plans to expand its use of robotic systems to optimise logistics operations at its facilities.
