Tesla launches sales of Cyberquad for Kids quad bike in Europe, banned in US
Tesla starts selling the Cyberquad for Kids electric quad bike in the European market. But the most interesting thing is that the same quad bike is banned in the US, as it is considered dangerous.
Details
Sales of the Cyberquad for Kids in the US started back in 2021. The first batch of 5,000 units was successfully sold out, but the second batch never happened, as the product was withdrawn by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The reason for the investigation was a complaint from a 36-year-old man who suffered a bruise after falling from a child's transport. As a result, regulators decided to recall the product because the mechanical suspension and maximum tyre pressure did not meet the requirements for a children's vehicle.
Despite the ban in the US, Tesla is releasing the ATV in other markets. Earlier this year, the Cyberquad for Kids appeared in China and is now available in Europe for €1,990.
The Cyberquad for Kids is designed for children aged 8 to 12 and weighing up to 68kg. It has a small 500W electric motor and a 288Wh battery, and is capable of a top speed of 16km/h.
