Rumours: Wonder Woman game will be a "service game", according to the description of one of Monolith Productions' job postings
We wrote that David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, reported that the company wants to turn its most successful and popular game franchises into "game services". During the conversation with investors, David said that such franchises as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, DC, and Mortal Kombat could bring billions of dollars as game services. And although the company still doesn't understand that such games are becoming less popular, their upcoming Wonder Woman game is likely to be a service game.
Here's What We Know
The job site of Monolith Productions, which is responsible for the game development, states that a good skill for a person would be "experience with supporting a software product or real-time game". And considering that the next WB game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be a season pass, the company is really focusing on game services, although it describes them as story-driven projects.
However, the good thing about the job posting is that it mentions the Nemesis system, which worked as follows: when you meet an enemy and he defeats you, he can grow in rank and become stronger. And if you defeat him, you can influence his fate by killing him or pardoning him. If you do not kill him, the enemy may remember this act of mercy and even become your ally in the future. This system was used in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War, so there is hope that the game will have something more interesting than combat skips.
Flashback
The game was announced in December 2021 at The Game Awards. It is supposed to be an open-world single-player action game, but there are no more details yet.
