UK and other countries plan to provide Ukraine with thousands of drones with artificial intelligence
The Bloomberg publication said that the UK was working with allied countries, including the USA, to arm Ukraine with new drones.
Here's What We Know
We are talking about thousands of drones with artificial intelligence. According to the source, these drones will be deployed in large flotillas and will be able to communicate with each other to simultaneously attack enemy positions. There will be no need for separate human operators for each UAV.
Western military strategists developing the technology believe that these drones could help Ukraine suppress certain enemy positions. According to them, the drones could be shipped to Ukraine within a few months, although it is possible that the timeline could shift.
The publication writes that the focus on drones comes amid Ukraine facing an artillery shortage. "While new drone capabilities do not replace the urgent need for shells, they may help mitigate some of that shortfall and create a new dynamic on the battlefield", Bloomberg's sources reported.
Earlier, a coalition of allies pledged to deliver 1 million drones to Ukraine within a year.
