CD Projekt is considering releasing mobile games based on its franchises, but it's too early to talk about it yet

After the presentation of the annual financial report, CD Projekt management held the traditional session of answering investors' questions.

Here's What We Know

One of the conference participants asked an interesting question: whether the Polish company is considering the possibility of granting licences for its franchises (Cyberpunk and The Witcher) to third-party developers to create mobile games based on them.

One of CD Projekt's directors Michał Nowakowski said that the company is considering such an option, but is not ready to talk about it publicly yet.

As for a one-off or other business model related to a potential partnership, to be honest, we wouldn't comment on the details, as there is nothing to talk about yet. But in this case, we are not looking at any pre-designed business model, whether it's a one-off contribution or a joint profit. That's another story. But when the time comes, we'll be sure to share information.

Recall that The Witcher universe has already released a mobile AR game The Witcher: Monster Slayer, but it failed to attract enough audience and eventually its servers were shut down two years after launch.

No mobile games have been released on Cyberpunk universe, but, obviously, with a decent execution and interesting concept such a project can have a great potential. Besides, mobile games are becoming more and more popular every year, and devices are becoming more powerful, so it seems that "mobile Cyberpunk" is a matter of time.
