Can fly 500 km: Chinese develop twin-engine UAV HH-100

The Chinese aerospace corporation XAC Civil Aircraft of the Aviation Industry has created a transport unmanned aerial vehicle under the HH-100 index that can carry 700 kg.

Here's What We Know

The HH-100 has a take-off weight of two tonnes and can additionally carry a cargo of up to 700 kg. The maximum flight range of the UAV is about 500 km, the speed is 300 km/h, and the altitude is 5,000 metres.

The Chinese are also trying to improve the new drone so that it can perform manoeuvres on the runway. Work on this project has been underway for several years as part of China's 10-year programme aimed at creating an integrated unmanned transport industry.

China is not disclosing any detailed characteristics of the UAV, nor is there any information on how the control system is arranged or whether the HH-100 will be a civilian-only aircraft.
