Massive failure: Users have lost access to their iCloud accounts
On the night of 27 April, a significant number of iCloud users reported losing access to their accounts across all devices. It is observed that the only way to resolve the situation was to reset passwords.
Here's What We Know
The incident affected a wide range of devices, including HomePods, Apple TV, iPhones, iPads, and Macs. It is currently unknown why this issue occurred and whether it is related to a specific class of devices.
However, it is worth noting that the failure is likely not caused by an organised hack or attack. Users have not reported any events related to two-factor authentication or credential spoofing attempts.
Seems at least some of us are experiencing issues with our iCloud/Apple ID accounts where we have to reset our passwords and re-login.
