German Eurofighter and Swedish Gripen fighter jets conduct joint exercises for NATO

Recently, German Eurofighter jets and Swedish Gripen fighter jets conducted their first joint exercise since Sweden joined NATO.

Here's What We Know

The exercise, which took place at Laage airbase near Rostock, Germany, saw pilots from both countries engage in complex aerial combat manoeuvres and simulated combat.

The Eurofighter and Gripen, which are known for their compatibility in carrying similar weapon systems, proved to be a perfect match in these training scenarios.

The event underlined the rapid progress in Sweden's integration into NATO's operational structure, enhancing the Alliance's collective defence capabilities. The proximity of German and Swedish air bases, particularly in the Baltic Sea, facilitates regular joint exercises.
