Google introduces advertising in AI Overviews

Google has announced the introduction of ads in AI Overviews.

Here's What We Know

During Google Marketing Live on 21 May, the company announced new opportunities for advertisers to use artificial intelligence. One of the announcements was the introduction of embedded ads in AI Overviews in search.

Although a specific date has not yet been announced, Google says that ads will soon appear in AI Overviews, labelled as "sponsored", and will display products related to the user's query. They will be based on existing ads from Google Search.

Google is planning to start testing in the US and will provide the ability to display search and commercial ads in AI Overviews.
